Advanced Metal Finishing for Your Medical Device Application!

The DLyte 100Pro is arriving at our Charlotte facility after OMTEC 2026 — allowing Kapstone Manufacturing to offer automated, precision dry electropolishing for three primary use cases.

  1. Additively manufactured medical components
  2. Contract finishing across major alloy families
  3. Feasibility evaluations for teams considering the technology

Three Ways We Put DLyte Metal Finishing to Work

1

Additive finishing

Post-processing for parts printed on our SLM 280

AM Platform

SLM 280

Common AM Alloys

316L, 17-4PH

Finish Envelope

Ø 180 mm × 115 mm

Max load / cycle

8 kg (17.6 lb)

Achievable Ra

 < 0.2 µm (mirror)

Geometry impact

Non-abrasive — AM features preserved

Take an additively manufactured medical component from raw print to clinically ready surface — without leaving Kapstone. We pair our SLM 280 metal printer with the DLyte 100Pro to deliver a single-source AM-to-finish workflow. Starting with a dedicated pre-process step, components are prepared for optimal surface refinement before moving into the DLyte finishing process, where complex geometries achieve smooth, clinically ready surfaces with repeatable results.

2

Contract finishing

Multi-alloy finishing on customer-supplied parts

Max Part Envelope

Ø 180 mm × 115 mm

Max load / cycle

8 kg (17.6 lb)

Compatible Alloys

SS · CoCr · Ti · Nitinol · Cu · Ni · Al

Surface Finish

< 0.1 µm Ra

 Process

Dry electrolyte — no liquid baths

Quality System

ISO 13485

Send us your machined, cast, or printed components. The DLyte 100Pro handles all the alloy families you'd expect from a serious medical and precision shop — and produces a uniform, repeatable finish on every part in the cycle.
